The Metro Times has an article about Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in their latest issue. Anyone in southeast Michigan who hasn’t been owes it to themselves to check it out. The place has a bunch of recent video games, but it also has a lot of very old amusements from the pre-video game era. After visiting the place for the first time, Scott remarked that he realized it wasn’t his first time. He had visited as a child but as he grew older he figured that he had to have imagined it, because no place like it could possibly exist. I don’t want to oversell it but it is the greatest thing mankind has ever created! You can get more information by visiting their website or just up and going.
One response to “Marvin’s!”
As a frequent customer of the “museum” when I was younger, and I became friends with the owner. I believe he was a doctor and, of course, a collector. When his collection of machines grew so large that they barely fit in house, his wife told him to get them out – and the rest is history. The place is hidden behind a borders and a little med. resturaunt, but it is awesome when you step inside. Over the years, he has collected everything! (including the famous animatronic characters from Chucky Cheesys)
